Why we ask for identification
As an accountancy practice, we carry out anti-money laundering (AML) and customer due diligence checks when taking on clients. We may ask you to confirm your identity and address and explain the nature of your work or business. For a company, we may also need details of its ownership and the people who control it.
Where an electronic identity check is appropriate, we use TaxCalc’s AML Identity Checking Service, which uses Equifax data. This is an identity check and does not affect your credit rating. We will explain the information needed and how to provide documents securely; please do not attach identity documents to your first contact form message.
We may need to refresh information during an ongoing engagement if circumstances change.
